You’ve busted your bum to make some websites and now you’ve got some traffic. Are you monetizing that traffic to the best of your ability or are you leaving money on the table?
I’ve been asking myself that question allot this past weekend.
We write original content, or try 1200 different ideas, and then 6 months later when actually have traffic we are too tired, distracted, or jaded we aren’t “rich” yet to take an objective look at what we DO HAVE NOW!
I wonder about our existing sites:
• Have you done any split testing lately?
• Is your footer taking up space or making you money?
• Are any of your sites now eligible for text-link-ads?
• Are any of your sites now eligible for paid reviews?
• Do you have an adsense search box on each site? (or a site search that is monetized?)
• Do you have as many multiple streams of income on a site as possible? (see John’s list for ideas)
• Are there any new streams of income you’ve heard of lately that you could add that you just haven’t tried yet (maybe kontera or chitika)?
• Did you check your stats lately and see if there are any errors?
• Is the first link in your menu a money link? (people usually click the first link the most)
• Did you check your stats lately and see if you have any keywords outshining the others? (you could run with those)
• If a site monetization “specialist” looked at your site, could they improve your sites earnings? If yes, you really need to Get Busy!
Now you know where my focus is going to be in the next few days, trying my best to make sure I’m not leaving money on the table.
Any other ideas to add to the above checklist?
