Rss footer ads, the text link ads people are selling in a do-it-yourself-style found in the bottom of their rss feed, are becoming more popular lately. I’m running them now in my feed, however I’m advertising my own stuff with them and not taking money for them.
I wanted to track how many of you are clicking on them and once again OpenAds has the answer I’m looking for. In the following video I explain how I’m using OpenAds.org Software to track my clicks from RSS advertisents:
In summary, I…
1. Set up a new text link ad zone in the publisher settings
2. Add the zone code to my rss feed footer
3. From the advertiser section create the text link and link it to the ad zone I set up in step one.
That’s it, now I can check statistics about how many people click the ads in my rss feed ;-)
