In the post You’re Not A Rockstar Tyler says:

I’d challenge anyone to find an experienced publisher who would disagree: don’t litter your site with ads when you have no traffic.

What’s an “experienced” publisher? And I Am A RockStar! Anyway, I disagree with his points because:

1. Ads are NOT annoying.

2. $20-30 a month is better than 0 per month.

3. Using adspace to grow the site is the same thing as putting advertising on the site, you’ve disproved your premise. I just found one “experienced publisher” that thinks advertising on a new site is ok, YOU!

4. Money Does Equal Traffic - take that little money from your ad earnings each month and buy adspace or links on other sites to promote your baby site.

I was going to leave this as a comment over there but it was getting long and sounded like a good post.

In conclusion

DO put ads on new sites. Treat your 25th visitor the same way you would treat your 1000th visitor.

DO realize that You Are A Rockstar! So Rock On Baby, Rock On!
