Making and editing websites/blogs can be much easier with the right tools. Here is a list of my top 5 website building tools:
HTML Kit
My php and html editor. Simple and easy to use. If I could find an “indenter” to properly indent my php code for htmlkit I would be in heaven ;-) But html kit rocks right out of the box. Go check out HTML Kit.
Adobe Fireworks
I’m not sure if I’m a fan of fireworks because it’s what I first started playing with images in or because it’s just a great software package, but if I’m opening an image, manipulating an image, or making any graphics it’s done in adobe fireworks. I love Fireworks! Go check out Adobe Fireworks.
Web Developer Toolbar For Firefox
The two functions I wear out with this tool bar are “outline block level elements” and “display and id information”. I’m a css hack and when my div boxes get screwed up those two menu options are a HUGE help. I’m also fond of a half dozen other Web Developer Toolbar functions. Go check out the Web Developer Toolbar For Firefox.
WAMP
Want your very own localhost or 127.0.0.1? eh? I edit many of my sites “live” where if I break something all of the visitors see things broken, however this isn’t the best way to do things.
The best way is to set up a local server. There you can destroy and manipulate your website all day without affecting your live website. Once things are working locally then you can update them on your live server.
Wamp is an all in one package for easily installing a local server with php and mysql. Go check out WAMP.
Dual Monitors

I love dual monitors for many reasons but the main benefits of dual monitors for me is for a productivity boost (when blogging from sources, when programming web sites, when multitasking) and for entertainment (on screen 2) for long periods in front of the computer.
What did I miss? Anything you think should be on the top 5 list that isn’t?
