Who played advertising god and said “all ads sold on blogs will be for one month!” ????
Where did this come from? Why do the blogging for dollar folks preach “experiment, experiment, test, test” yet almost every ad I see for sale is for one month?
Please point me to the document that says all tests have been tried and the best results come from selling ads for one month.
And what exactly is one month, 30 days? 31 days? What about February with it’s 28 days, do you discount your monthly ad rate in February because it’s a shorter month or to you just stick it to your advertisers and say “tough!”.
Advertising rates for 1 month are stupid.
I prefer 7 days
1 internet month is like 4 human months. 1 month internet time is a LONG time. Do I really need to invest for an entire month in your site to see if I like the results?
7 days seems perfect to me. It’s cheaper for me the advertiser, I can give the site a fair shake to see if its worth more money. I can also change my ad copy more frequently if I’m renewing every week.
That is hard to manage!
For a publisher it might be more difficult to manage but if you are complaining about the time it takes to take advertisers money then you’ve got a few “minor” issues.
There is hope for you. My newest project NoFollowAds does more than just create a nofollow tag on your ads. It’s also an ad management system that will make managing your personal and private ads much easier ;)
(as many bloggers go to their advertising pages and quietly and quickly change their “1 month” advertising copy to something that makes sense)
