Three weeks ago I decided to remove ads from 45n5.com thinking that not sending visitors away would benefit this blog and the readers more? Did it? Take a look:

New RSS subscribers stayed about the same and pageviews per visitor is slightly declining.

Those results look lame to me. Removing ads to external sites doesn’t seem to have helped me at all. Could it have hurt?

I should also note that revenue dropped to $0.00.

What’s a blogger to do?

I think I’ll give the stats another week or two. If nothing much changes I will consider adding ads back into the default position that the rest of the GroupPlatform network will be using them in.

I would prefer new subscribers here more than the ad revenue so I might try either buying ads on other peoples site’s with the ad revenue or swapping ad space on other similar blogs with similar subscriber numbers (500-1000).
